What's On Top of Your Tree?

Melanie answered some Christmas related questions on her blog answering a tag. I won't answer all the questions, but I must address one. Angel or Star on the Tree? Absolutely it must be a star. Several years ago I actually had the nerve to put a big bow at the top of our Christmas Tree with ribbon trailing down through the branches. I thought it looked really nice. Morgan, who was about 5 or 6 at the time, started into the living room. She stopped in the doorway and asked with quite an annoyed expression and tone, "Why is there a bow on top of the tree?!? Was there a bow in the sky when Jesus was born?!? There should be a silver star on top of the tree." We have had a silver star on our tree ever since. However, this year since we have two big trees decorated, the silver star is on the downstairs tree and there is a silver semi-starlike ornament on the upstairs tree. She hasn't complained about it yet.
