Day 3

Our first stop of the day was the Marine Corps Monument (or the Iwo Jima Monument). There are 5 soldiers and I definitely counted 11 hands. Our first museum of the day was the Smithsonian Museum of American History. We took too many pictures to post them all. Mary Todd Lincoln was a very tiny woman!
Morgan and I were impressed with the extremely rare decorated Stradivarius Quartet.

These were one of 13 pair of Dorothy's shoes used in the movie. These were used in some dancing scenes. We spent a couple of hours at the Holocaust Museum. The experience was overwhelming. We were only allowed to take pictures in a couple of places.

We really enjoyed the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. These are just a couple of the many, many pictures we took there.

The Hope Diamond doesn't photograph too well behind smeary glass.

We spent the evening at a few more memorials. The first one was the Thomas Jefferson Memorial.

We walked through the FDR Memorial just as it was getting dark. The fountains were very pretty. Morgan loved to see fireflies for the first time.
The WWII Memorial was beautiful at night.
