Memorial Day

Memorial Day for Morgan and me started very, very early, as we flew through the night and arrived at Dulles at about 6:30 AM EST. We were picked up by a tour bus and driven into Washington. Our first stop was for breakfast at the food court in the Ronald Reagan International Trade Building. Next stop was to the WWII Memorial. They were having a special Memorial Day Program.
Then we went to the Smithsonian Museum of Air and Space. ( Morgan and two friends).
Next on the tour was Ford's Theater --
And the Peterson House (where Lincoln actually died).

We had lunch at the old Post Office. The bottom two levels are shopping and food.

The rest of the building seemed to be vacant except for the top two levels of the tower. We took the elevator up to the observation level on top for an amazing view.
We then went to the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. I was amazed to find this very large sculpture made by a man that lives in St. George, Utah.

We headed to Alexandria, Virginia for a Legends Walking Tour. It used to be called the Ghost Tour, but it's not so ghosty anymore.
We were very happy to reach our hotel in Rockville, Maryland for showers and bed!

Looks like you had a great time! My one and only time visiting DC was 28 years ago when David and Liz lived in Arlington.
